New Color Denim: Fresh Color Hues Replace Your Old Blues

Color denim is a look that has been on and off the fashion radar for awhile. But bright denim has made a big comeback this season. If you are not ready to jump into the trend full force then ease into with wearing shade that you are comfortable with like green, blue, or purple. You should consider your body shape when wearing colored denim. Bright colors draw attention to your lower half. So if you are not comfortable with that try a boot cut or flare leg fit to help balance you out. A great way to keep this look on the mature side is to pair it with toned down neutrals. You can also make this look edgy and trendy by using a graphic tee and adding a belt or two. Or make it girly with a floral tunic, heels and denim vest. Some of me favorite designers are J Brand and Current/Elliott. So will you be trying out this look? Let me know what you think.

Swank Look Of The Day: Spring Into Layers

Now that it is officially Spring time it is time to switch up our wardrobe and make it swank to match the changing weather. Even though the sun is starting to come out more and heat things up. It's still not summertime so try sticking to light airy fabrics with light layers that you can peel off as the heat rise and put back on after the sun goes down. So today's look comes from Club Monaco. This perfect outfit is put together with their Jacqueline Winter Shorts, Astrid Tank, Wool Thigh Highs, Max Plaid Blazer with a pair of laced up booties. This look is easy to recreate by combining and using both your summer and winter pieces or you can contact me at SwankStylist@gamil.com for a styling consultation.

Rag and Bone 2011 Fall Women's Collection

Designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright for Rag&Bone seemed to go back to Scotland for inspiration this season. There was a lot of mixing and matching with city and country, tailored and sportswear, masculine and feminine. Sleek silhouettes made the wintery outdoorsy outfits look far from bulky. The interesting color blocking, bold piping and trim and mixed media constructions made the looks more futuristic than retro. And the tall chunky brown boots that went down the runway were to die for.

2011 Fall Fashion Trend To Look Out For: Turtlenecks

The fall staple from the 90's that we all thought have went away is making a comeback in the 2011 fall collections. Everyone from Diane Keaton to BCBG Max Azia have shown turtlenecks on the runway this fashion week. Typically a winter staple for layering under sweaters but for the fall try the look by pairing it with flowing skirts and dresses with a lot of movement.

Tom Ford Goes To London For Fashion Week

Tom Ford is back and hopefully for good. After a six year break from designing he returned and showed a small womenswear collection during Fashion Week in New York for Spring 2011. With superstar models that included Julianne Moore, Beyonce and Lauren Hutton. So we all have been waiting and watching to see what his next step was go to be, and he is set to go across the pond. A spokesman for Tom Ford has confirmed that the designer will be showing at London Fashion Week, according to the Telegraph. It looks like the collection will be as intimate as the one last season. Burberry normally brings all the celebrities to their show in London but now it looks like Ford will be giving them a run for their money with him decided to show his collection there as well. So who have their Passports ready cause it is time to go to London and stalk out the chance to get a glimpse. London Fashion Week runs February 18th to the 23rd this year.
