Louis Vuitton Spring 2011: Marc Does It Again

One thing about Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs is that no season is ever the same with him. But I guess with him designing three different lines who can blame him. Louis Vuitton spring 2011 collection had a Oriental flair to it. There were also plenty of animal prints, from zebras to tigers to a panda's face done in sequins on a blouse. So what do you think about this RTW collection from the fashion house that is known to most for their handbags? Is it too bold or right up your alley?

Chloe Spring 2011 Pure and Simple

Chloe's spring 2011 was very simple with no prints, no heels, and no complexities. Just a inkling of sportswear in form fitting bodysuits and ballet flats. There was an air of pure femininity in the sheer skirts made in tulle. With a subdued color palette of brown, white, nude, and black. Designer Hannah MacGibbon incorporated leather tops, high collars, and sheer outerwear for a new season of refinement.

It was very clear that Donatella Versace opted for body tight designs and stayed very true to the key aspects of the Versace brand. Prada Spring 2011: Goes Bananas

Brights hues were not a problem at the spring show for Prada which used lime green, orange, royal blue, and the patterns of monkeys, bananas, and trees. There was also a feminine touch to the show with tight skirts to the knee but paired with looser fitting jackets or tops. Some echoing the men collection presented in the summer with V necks that evokes doctor shirts. The models carried neon colored fur stoles down the runway which can not be used in the spring time but it was a great fashion statement. The outfits were also paired with wedged sneakers. While most designers looked to the 70s for spring 2011 the only thing 70s about the Prada show was the Glo color palette. Instead Prada went south to Cuba, Brazil, and Mexico. The collection was so modern and bight and forward thinking.

Gucci RTW Spring 2011

The Gucci spring 2011 show was a lot different from the shows in New York this year. Creative Director Frida Giannini sent a collection full of vibrant color with a feel of art deco meets country club down the runway. Rough materials like raffia and suede was worked with satin and silk into Giannini vision of Italian glamour. The silhouettes were clean and the gold studs added a modern glamour that made the show sparkle. Shimmering silk dresses opened the show, followed by bright solid colors yellow, orange, eclectic blue, and emerald green. Cropped blazers were paired with tailored billowy pants and glove like dresses trimmed in leather fringe. The show then took a turn and went to all back looks. The closing looks of the show were body-con dresses in the bright hues that opened the show, but embroidered with beading and raffia. The shoes and handbags used in the show was to die for Giannini stayed with the trend of the structured bags from the fall collection. I personally can not wait till this collection hit the stores. What do you think?

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011

The spring/summer 2011 collection from Burberry is a fabulous fusion of sensual and chic fabrics, exciting prints, incredible textures and sexy hints of color. The overall look was very punk motocross but still classic Burberry. The majority of the show was neutral colors; khaki, black, and champagne with hits of color like lime green, aqua, and yellow. The brightly colored clutches, handbags, shoes, and belts really compliment the looks without over doing it and taking away from the clothes.Burberry's classic trench was also given a makeover for spring with a tougher sexy edge; recreated in leather and python; it was given motocross style padding leather sleeves, and in places shrunken down with zip fastenings to give it the biker chic feel. The motocross padding continued into other looks as the skinny leather trousers, with a silver version giving it a more glam rock look, while the silk leopard print mini dress was perfect for party girls. If you watched the show live you were able to pre order the collection but if you missed the per order window you will have to wait until February 2011 when the collection hit stores.
