New York Is The New Home Of Gap's 1969 Denim Only Store

Gap wants to make a space in the high end denim market through its 1969 stores. With the newest one being in New York's lower Broadway. The store is between Spring and Broome streets, and houses array of styles of denim from the 1969's premium denim collection for men and women, complementary tops, jackets and shoes. They will also be carrying styles that will only be available in the 1969 stores, including European and Japanese styles. The store has a bright clean feel to it, denim lines the wall and the back of store has greenery to give it a more grounding touch. Seating in the center of the store is raw wood as well as a bar mounted with iPads which is loaded with different fashion sites to keep the non shopping companion busy. The Gap was founded on denim so I am glad to see it is getting back to it roots, but with more of a boutique feel.

The Gaps Goes Back To The 70s

As we all know the vibe of spring 2011 is the 70's. A lot of time retailers are a little slow to bring the runway trend to the stores but the Gap is delivering us two new denim styles that is all about the 70's. The all new High Rise Trouser which has a 7 5/8 inch front rise and the Sexy Boot Jean, which fits similar to a denim legging up top and breaks lower than Gap's basic bootcut style. Both new styles will be hitting Gap stores and Gap.com this month. Each of these styles channels the 70's, when waistbands sat higher and leg openings where wider. The new styles will retail from $69.50 to $79.50 and will be available in a variety of washes. So if you wanted to embrace the 70's vibe but wasn't loving the wide legged pants these are two great options to give you the feel but keeps it sexy.

Stella McCartney Designing For Gap Now: Kids Collection

Stella McCartney has designed her first kids collection for Gap, which arrives in stores today. After a much successful mini collection that she did last year. McCartney's new collection is all vegan, unisex, and comes in sizes ranging from infants to 12. The line is made up with cozy sweaters, skinny jeans, tees and sweatshirts that have animal prints on them, corduroy bloomers and another military jacket that I am sure is going to sell out as fast as the band jacket she made for them last year. So with the holidays around the corner I suggest you hurry to your nearest Gap Kids and get it now. This is a great price point for designer clothes for the little ones.
