Burberry Spring 2012 Menswear Collection

The men's spring 2012 Burberry collection is all about ease. There is crocheting, stitching, embroidery and handblock prints. This spring collection has an ethic feel to it with the geometric shapes around the neckline being suggestive of Native American dress. Block prints gave a textured to tops and sweaters. There were circular patterns on tee shirts to suggest ancient art. Burberry also showed love to Scotland with most of the outfits being topped with a hand crocheted raffia golfing hat topped with a pom pom. The models wore cork soled moccasins and loafers. The color palate was very earthy garnet, indigo and beet.

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011

The spring/summer 2011 collection from Burberry is a fabulous fusion of sensual and chic fabrics, exciting prints, incredible textures and sexy hints of color. The overall look was very punk motocross but still classic Burberry. The majority of the show was neutral colors; khaki, black, and champagne with hits of color like lime green, aqua, and yellow. The brightly colored clutches, handbags, shoes, and belts really compliment the looks without over doing it and taking away from the clothes.Burberry's classic trench was also given a makeover for spring with a tougher sexy edge; recreated in leather and python; it was given motocross style padding leather sleeves, and in places shrunken down with zip fastenings to give it the biker chic feel. The motocross padding continued into other looks as the skinny leather trousers, with a silver version giving it a more glam rock look, while the silk leopard print mini dress was perfect for party girls. If you watched the show live you were able to pre order the collection but if you missed the per order window you will have to wait until February 2011 when the collection hit stores.

Uncommon Coats

Today is the first day it felt like fall is on its way. So with more cool air coming in it is time to think about covering your arms up. Now I know you are not ready for a full coat, so a Cape would be a great option. With well placed armholes and a dose of coat like structure. They will look amazing over a simple tee or even the chunkiest of knits. This season I am liking See by Chole Quilted Cape $1145, Pure Hand knit Denmark Collard Poncho $130, Burberry Mega Check Wrap $450 and the Doir Holly Herringbone Knit Cape. Which one will you be buying. If you have any question on fall fashions email me at SwankStylist@gmail.com
