Fall Trend Alert: Mixing Prints

Mixing prints can be a little tricky and scary at first but that is what fashion is all about, pushing yourself to a new style high. If done right it will really open up your wardrobe options to more combinations. There is a method to mixing prints and patterns so follow these few steps and you should be well on your way. 1) Stay with the same color family. Take time to find pieces that is linked by a common color scheme. Patterns that have the same hue can be successfully worn together. 2)Vary the scale of the prints. Try wearing a large paisley print with a fine pinstripe. One bold graphic element will pull the whole look together. 3)Try to keep at least one piece of your outfit a tailored silhouette. 4)Keep the accessories simple. Let the patterns in your outfit be the statement. If you ever doubt yourself try looking at photos of the runway shows to give you ideas or contact me at Swankstylist@gmail.com to help you out. Let me know if you are bold enough to try this. I would love to see pictures of your finished looks.
