Check It Out: Brandy & Ray J's “Family Business”

It looks good!! I can't wait till April 11th!

VH1 has announced Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business, a new reality series starring former America's Got Talent judge Brandy Norwood and her For the Love of Ray J brother, will premiere Sunday, April 11 at 9PM ET/PT.

Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business will follow Brandy, Ray J -- whose real name is William Raymond Norwood, Jr. -- and their parents Sonja and Willie as they run their family business Rn'B Productions.

While the company has been run by Sonja, Brandy and Ray J must now take on more responsibility as she has decided to step down.

Ray J and Brandy have previously worked together on several projects -- including when he played her little cousin on the sitcom Moesha, which aired on the now-defunct UPN from 1996 to 2001.

Brandy later served as a judge on America's Got Talent's first season, however she was replaced by Sharon Osbourne prior to the NBC reality competition series' second installment in 2007. For the Love of Ray J has aired two seasons on VH1.

Last October, Ray J revealed that he was collaborating with 51 Minds Entertainment, the production company behind his VH1 reality dating series, to develop a new reality series focused on his family.

VH1 subsequently ordered the 11-episode series.

In addition to Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business, VH1 also announced Basketball Wives, a new docu-reality series following the wives of NBA stars, and What Chili Wants, a new reality dating series starring former TLC member Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, will also premiere on April 11.

Like a Rockstar: RiRi Is Getting Drum Lessons From Travis Barker

Rihanna is brushing up on her drum skills with a little help from a very experienced teacher — Blink-182's Travis Barker. In a recent update to his Twitter account, Barker posted a picture of the pair together in a Los Angeles rehearsal space.

"Teaching Rihanna some things on drums," he tweeted. "She JAMS!!!!! Watch out for her!!"

The "Rude Boy" star reportedly plans to debut her newfound skills during her European tour later this year.

Rihanna has been topping recent headlines not only for her one-on-one jam sessions with Barker, but also as an apparent crush of rap icon 50 Cent. In a recent interview with MTV, Fiddy confessed that the Barbadian singer is among his top three crushes.

"I would kiss Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna," the hip-hop mogul confessed. "I would marry Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna in Africa, I'd have 3 wives!"

It's My Party (maybe not): Chris Brown May Not Find B-Day Venue

Chris Brown is reportedly facing problem in finding a suitable venue to celebrate his 21st birthday.

According to sources, Brown has been looking for places like clubs in New York, Miami and Las Vegas.

However, all venue holders and promoters are apparently afraid to book their place for the singer, as they don’t want to spoil their ‘potential’ relationship with Brown’s ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

"They don't want to mess up their relationship, or their potential relationship, with Rihanna," the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

Brown is now said to be looking for private homes or restaurants in Manhattan.

Drake's Thank Me Later Gets a Release Date — Again

3/30/2010 By Josiah Hughes

For the last year, we've been reporting on Drake’s rise to stardom through his So Far Gone mixtape and subsequent hype. The Toronto rapper’s long-anticipated debut album, Thank Me Later, has had an endless number of different release dates, all of which have come and gone with no actual release. In other words, you'll have to forgive us for our skepticism when we tell you that Thank Me Later is now scheduled for release on May 25.

The information comes from reliable rap site Rap-Up, which reports that the album will be out on May 25. Drake's reason for the delay is apparently the fact that he's been working on various collaborations to ensure the perfect debut. Confirmed acts so far include Jay-Z, Kanye West and The-Dream.

Meanwhile, Drake is currently promoting his latest single “Over.” The track is currently sitting at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, and will be getting its own music video in the coming weeks. For now, you can stream the single below and download it here.

Change: House sends health care overhaul bill to Obama

WASHINGTON – A transformative health care bill is headed to President Barack Obama for his signature as Congress takes the final steps in Democrats' improbable and history-making push for near-universal medical coverage.

On the cusp of succeeding where numerous past congresses and administrations have failed, jubilant House Democrats voted 219-212 late Sunday to send legislation to Obama that would extend coverage to 32 million uninsured Americans, reduce deficits and ban insurance company practices such as denying coverage to people with pre-existing medical conditions.

"This is what change looks like," Obama said later in televised remarks that stirred memories of his 2008 campaign promise of "change we can believe in."

"We proved that this government — a government of the people and by the people — still works for the people."

Obama's young presidency received a much needed boost from passage of the legislation, which would touch the lives of nearly every American. The battle for the future of the health insurance system — affecting one-sixth of the economy — galvanized Republicans and conservative activists looking ahead to November's midterm elections.

A companion package making a series of changes sought by House Democrats to the larger bill, which already passed the Senate, was approved 220-211. The fix-it bill will now go to the Senate, where debate is expected to begin as early as Tuesday. Senate Democrats hope to approve it unchanged and send it directly to Obama, though Republicans intend to attempt parliamentary objections that could change the bill and require it to go back to the House.

Obama is expected to sign the larger bill early this week.

The complicated two-step process was made necessary because Senate Democrats lost their filibuster-proof supermajority in a special election in January, a setback that caused even some Democratic lawmakers to pronounce the yearlong health care effort dead. Under the relentless prodding of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in particular, it was gradually revived, and the fix-it bill will be considered under fast-track Senate rules that don't allow minority party filibusters.

"We will be joining those who established Social Security, Medicare and now, tonight, health care for all Americans," said Pelosi, D-Calif., partner to Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the grueling campaign to pass the legislation.

"This is the civil rights act of the 21st century," added Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, the top-ranking black member of the House.

GOP lawmakers attacked the legislation as everything from a government takeover to the beginning of totalitarianism, and none voted in favor. "Hell no!" Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, shouted in a fiery speech opposing the legislation. "We have failed to listen to America and we have failed to reflect the will of our constituents."

Thirty-four Democrats also voted "no" on the Senate-passed bill.

Sunday night's votes capped an unpredictable and raucous weekend at the capitol, with Democratic leaders negotiating around the clock for the final votes as hundreds of protesters paraded outside, their shouts of "Kill the Bill! Kill the Bill!" audible within the Capitol.

A last-minute deal with a critical group of anti-abortion lawmakers Sunday afternoon sealed Democrats' victory. The leader of the anti-abortion bloc, Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., didn't get to add stricter anti-abortion language to the underlying bill, but was satisfied by an executive order signed by Obama affirming current law and provisions in the legislation that ban federal funding for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or danger to the life of the mother.

Republican abortion foes said Obama's proposed order was insufficient, and when Stupak sought to counter them, a shout of "baby killer" was heard coming from the Republican side of the chamber.

Far beyond the political ramifications — a concern the president repeatedly insisted he paid no mind — were the sweeping changes the bill held in store for Americans, insured or not, as well as the insurance industry and health care providers.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the legislation awaiting the president's approval would cut deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade. For the first time, most Americans would be required to purchase insurance, and face penalties if they refused. Much of the money in the bill would be devoted to subsidies to help families at incomes of up to $88,000 a year pay their premiums.

The second measure, which House Democrats demanded before agreeing to approve the first, included enough money to close a gap in the Medicare prescription drug coverage over the next decade, starting with an election-season rebate of $250 later this year for seniors facing high costs.

It also included sweeping changes in the student loan program, an administration priority that has been stalled in the Senate for months.

For the president, the events capped an 18-day stretch in which he traveled to four states and lobbied more than 60 wavering lawmakers in person or by phone to secure passage of his signature domestic issue. He also postponed an overseas trip to remain in Washington and push for the bill.

Obama watched the vote in the White House's Roosevelt Room with Vice President Joe Biden and dozens of aides, exchanged high fives with Rahm Emanuel, his chief of staff, and then telephoned Pelosi with congratulations.

Now Obama will have to sell the bill to the public, and a White House aide said he was likely to take at least one trip this weekend to emphasize the legislation's benefits.

The measure would also usher in a significant expansion of Medicaid, the federal-state health care program for the poor. The insurance industry, which spent millions on advertising trying to block the bill, would come under new federal regulation. Parents would be able to keep children up to age 26 on their family insurance plans.

To pay for the changes, the legislation includes more than $400 billion in higher taxes over a decade and cuts more than $500 billion from planned payments to hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and other providers that treat Medicare patients.

Teen Arrested For Waka Flocka Concert Shooting

An Indiana teenager has been arrested and charged as a prime suspect in the shooting that took place following a Waka Flocka Flame concert in Gary, Indiana on March 5.

17-year-old Devontius Hutcherson is being charged for his role in the late night shooting, where eight teenage boys were wounded. Victims described a man wearing a red hat over dreadlocks that opened fire on a crowd of approximately 200 teens in the parking lot of the World of Skates rink in Gary. Eight victims -- who ranged in age from 14 to 18 -- were treated for non life-threatening gunshot wounds to the legs, stomach, wrist and back. Police officials have allegedly confiscated the weapon that was fired outside the skating rink and have explained that Hutcherson will face multiple felony charges from a prior shooting incident as well.

Hutcherson is being investigated for shooting and killing a 22-year-old man and wounding another, after they refused to provide him with $5 to attend a concert on Jan 19. He reportedly robbed both victims before shooting them. Hutcherson is currently being held without bail while police investigate all current

Lloyd Signs W/ Interscope Records, Passes On Young Money "Baby & Wayne Were Definitely The First To Reach Out To Me"

Former Murder Inc. recording artist Lloyd has opted out of a possible Young Money record deal and signed a contract with Interscope Records.

According to the singer, Cash Money/Young Money were the initial front runners.

"Baby and Wayne were definitely the first people to reach out to me," he revealed in an interview. "I talked to them about a deal. That's who I thought I'd end up with in my heart. The problem is that Young Money/Cash Money is exclusive to Universal Motown. As you and I know, that's where I did my last two albums. I wasn't excited about going back. I tried to do a Young Money/Cash Money deal through another distributor, but it couldn't be done. At the end of the day, I'm still family, though." (MTV)

Last December, Lloyd killed rumors that he was already signed to Young Money.

"A lot of people think I'm already signed over there, but the truth is that I'm still a free agent and I haven't signed with Young Money/Cash Money," he said in an interview. "I don't want to get into specifics, but I have been talking to them and to some other labels. It's an important decision and we're not gonna rush it. We're both working, but not on anything specifically together. He has The Rebirth and The Carter 4, and I'm working on my new album and a couple mixtapes. There were rumors about us doing a project together a few years back, but that was just wishful thinking by the fans." (New Lil Wayne)

The singer addressed rumors of leaving Murder Inc. for Wayne's Young Money last year.

"I think that's the question on everyone's mind," Lloyd said about the possibility of signing to Young Money. "No, I wasn't offered a deal, uhm, if anything I think about it because I'm big fans of their work and we all good friends. We've worked [together on songs] a lot in the past, you know, we broke bread together and I think a lot of fans would probably want to see that happen. I just wanna win, I just wanna be successful. I think wherever I go, I'm gonna be successful." ("Jenny Boom Boom TV")

Lloyd said his recent collaborations with Wayne and Drake have helped him keep his name relevant.

"I mean, it's not hard, you just gotta work," Lloyd explained in an interview. "The way I stay relevant is to make more music. There's so many different avenues to get music out now that it's pretty rare for you to make a song and not be heard one way or another and by working with other artists, that plays a big part. So when I'm not on the scene or I'm going through label problems and you give me a Drake mixtape, it kinda reminds you of who I am." (Rolling Out TV)

Trey Songz Clears Up Rumors

Corey Haim Found Dead!

Damn: I loved the 80's

Actor Corey Haim, 38, was found dead early Wednesday (March 10) of an apparent drug overdose, according to KTLA. The actor, who rose to fame in the 1980s alongside longtime pal Corey Feldman, was found unresponsive in his apartment near Burbank, California, police told the station.

He reportedly died at 3:30 a.m. PT, and his mother was at his home at the time of his death. He was pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, police said.

Haim was born in Ontario in 1971 and as a teenager found fame in Hollywood. His first role was in 1984's "Firstborn" with Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. He was one of the best-known young actors of the decade, alongside other notable actors like C. Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson and Emilio Estevez. He starred in films like "Silver Bullet," Lucas" and most famously 1987's "The Lost Boys," with Feldman as well as Kiefer Sutherland.

In the 1990s Haim played more obscure roles yet continued to work steadily in films like "National Lampoon's Last Resort" and "Prayer of the Rollerboys." Haim struggled with substance abuse through much of his career.

In the past decade, however, Haim made moves for a career comeback. He starred alongside Feldman on their A&E reality show, "The Two Coreys," for two seasons. He also made a cameo in the "Lost Boys" sequel, "Lost Boys: The Tribe," where he reprised his role as Sam Emerson, and had several films in production at the time of his death.

Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), popularly known as Biggie Smalls or simply Biggie (after a fictional gangster in the 1975 film Let's Do It Again), Frank White (based on a fictional drug baron from the 1990 film King of New York),[1] and by his primary stage name The Notorious B.I.G., was an American rapper.

Raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, Wallace grew up during the peak years of the 1980s crack epidemic and started dealing drugs at an early age. When Wallace released his debut album with the 1994 record Ready to Die, he was a central figure in the East Coast hip hop scene and increased New York's visibility at a time when West Coast artists were more common in the mainstream.[2] The following year, Wallace led his childhood friends to chart success through his protégé group, Junior M.A.F.I.A.. While recording his second album, Wallace was heavily involved in the East Coast–West Coast hip hop feud, dominating the scene at the time.

On March 9, 1997, Wallace was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. His double-disc set Life After Death, released fifteen days later, hit #1 on the U.S. album charts and was certified Diamond in 2000.[3] Wallace was noted for his "loose, easy flow",[4] dark semi-autobiographical lyrics and storytelling abilities. Since his death, a further two albums have been released. MTV ranked him at #3 on their list of The Greatest MCs of All Time.[5]

Your Health: AIDS Virus Can Hide in Bone Marrow

The virus that causes AIDS can hide in the bone marrow, avoiding drugs and later awakening to cause illness, according to new research that could point the way toward better treatments for the disease.

Finding that hide-out is a first step, but years of research lie ahead.

Dr. Kathleen Collins of the University of Michigan and her colleagues report in this week's edition of the journal Nature Medicine that the HIV virus can infect long-lived bone marrow cells that eventually convert into blood cells.

The virus is dormant in the bone marrow cells, she said, but when those progenitor cells develop into blood cells, it can be reactivated and cause renewed infection. The virus kills the new blood cells and then moves on to infect other cells, she said.

"If we're ever going to be able to find a way to get rid of the cells, the first step is to understand" where a latent infection can continue, Collins said.

In recent years, drugs have reduced AIDS deaths sharply, but patients need to keep taking the medicines for life or the infection comes back, she said. That's an indication that while the drugs battle the active virus, some of the disease remains hidden away to flare up once the therapy is stopped.

One hide-out was found earlier in blood cells called macrophages. Another pool was discovered in memory T-cells, and research began on attacking those.

But those couldn't account for all the HIV virus still circulating, Collins said, showing there were more locations to check out and leading her to study the blood cell progenitors.

Finding these sources of infection is important because eliminating them would allow AIDS patients to stop taking drugs after their infection was over. That's critical in countries where the treatment is hard to afford and deliver.

"I don't know how many people realize that although the drugs have reduced mortality we still have a long way to go," Collins said in a telephone interview. "That is mainly because we can't stop the drugs, people have to take it for a lifetime."

The research was funded by the National Institutes of Health, Burroughs Wellcome Foundation, University of Michigan, Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship, National Science Foundation and a Bernard Maas Fellowship.

Auto-Tune king T-Pain has produced an animated homage to 1990's Atlanta Spring Break fiesta Freaknik, which is scheduled to air on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim on March 7. The one-hour special, 'Freaknik: The Musical,' took Pain two years to create, and features vocal appearances by Lil Wayne (playing Jesus), Snoop Dogg, Keri Hilson, Kelis, Big Boi, Rick Ross, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. Saturday Night Live comedians Andy Samberg and Bill Hader also round out the bill. T-Pain also voices "a party ghost." 'Freaknik' focuses on a group of students hoping to revive the party, which at one point attracted more than 250,000 people, until it was shut down in the late 90's. Part 3 of 3

Finally: Lil Wayne Checks in to Riker's Island

After two separate sentencing delays, New Orleans rap star Lil Wayne was officially sentenced to prison today (March 8th) in Manhattan Criminal Court.

Lil Wayne was sentenced to the prison term after the rapper admitted to possessing a loaded .40 caliber handgun that was found on his tour bus after a performance in New York in July of 2007.

The rapper was taken away in handcuffs to begin serving his time on Riker’s Island, a prison that is just emerging from a scandal over preferential treatment of certain inmates and celebrities.

In October of 2009, several prison officials resigned from the prison after it was revealed that Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown and other inmates had been given preferential treatment while serving their time behind bars.

Lil Wayne was originally supposed to be sentenced to prison on February 9th but the date was postponed to March 2nd, because the rapper needed root canals, in addition to having his platinum “grillz” removed.

The March 2nd date was rescheduled to today (March 8th), after a fire broke out in Manhattan Criminal Court’s basement which sent eight people to the hospital.

Lil Wayne could be out in as little as eight months. He is expected to remain in protective custody during his time behind bars.

"Law is mind without reason. .................I'll return," Lil Wayne told fans on his Twitter page this morning.

The pair will link in selected markets and combines their stage show with a story about two night-club performers who end up arrested and have to find their way out of prison.

"This is an incredible opportunity to combine our similar, but different worlds of entertainment together on stage for the first time," Epps told in a statement.

The innovative tour will kick off April 27th at Harrah’s Rincon Casino in San Diego, followed by a date Saturday May 1st at the Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino in Indio, California.

"We’ve worked together in the past on some projects and knew that our audiences would love to see us bring Hip-Hop music and Hip-Hop comedy together on stage,” Snoop Dogg stated.

Epps’ next appearance will be in the Warner Bros. film Lottery Ticket, which also stars Ice Cube, Bow Wow and Brandon T. Jackson.

Snoop’s next release is entitled More Malice: Deluxe Album and Movie on March 23rd, a deluxe release of his album Malice N Wonderland.

The re-release will include a never-before-seen mini-movie titled Malice N Wonderland The Movie.

D’Angelo Pleads Not Guilty to Prostitute Solicitation has confirmed that singer D’Angelo has pleaded not guilty to charges that he solicited a prostitute.

D’Angelo, real name Michael Archer, was arrested last Saturday (March 6) in New York’s Greenwich Village section for propositioning an undercover officer with $40 for sex.

Through his management, the acclaimed artist proclaimed his innocence and advised fans of his focus in delivering a new LP this summer, which would be his first in 10 years.

“We know there is a lot of speculation in regard to the arrest of D'Angelo in New York City this past weekend,” stated D’Angelo representative Lindsay Guion. “We would like his fans and the public at large to know that D'Angelo has pled not guilty -- and is contesting the allegations made against him. Also know that, he is in good health and extremely excited about his forthcoming new album.”

The vocalist’s last album, Voodoo, was a career milestone, selling over 1.7 million and earning a Grammy for Best R&B album.

In 2005 he was arrested twice, pleading guilty to DUI, marijuana, and cocaine possession charges.

A hearing for the prostitution charge has been set for May 4.Until then, Guion urges fans not to judge the singer based on his past criminal convictions.

“D'Angelo would like to personally thank all of his fans for the outpouring of concern, and appreciates if all would allow the American justice system to resolve the matter before jumping to any conclusions,” she concluded.

At press time, D’Angelo’s forthcoming third studio album does not have a verified release date.

Behind The Scenes: Trina - Million Dollar Girl

Oscar Night Red Carpet Fashion

Sherri Shepherd: Grade C.
Sherri looks ok, but it's nothing spectacular for such a fabulous night!

Paula Patton: Grade B+. She's glowing and looks adorable in her off-shoulder dress. Paula makes "expecting" fashionable!

Tyler Perry: Grade A. Tyler looks debonair...enough said.

Nicole Richie: Grade B-. This dress works for her and her bohemian style, but overall I'm not fond of the dress!

Zoe Kravitz: Grade C. It's not like the dress is ugly, but in "real life" she has such a unique fashion sense and I don't feel like the dress reflects that. The girl is funky, but this dress is blah! Stay true to yourself Zoe!

Lenny Kravitz: Grade A+. He looks handsome...edible almost!

Gabourey Sidibe: Grade A. I think she looks cute and flitry but is still appropriately dressed for the ambiance of the event! Good job!

Mo'Nique: Grade A. I love Mo'Nique and her man...they make a good-looking couple! Although I would have loved to see something a little bolder on her, I think she looks glamorous and perfect for the night! And her husband ain't a bad accessory either!

Jennifer Lopez: Grade B+: I looooooooveeee her dress! J. Lo shines in it! She's just short of an "A" though and that's due to her slightly messy hair. it's take away from the elegance of the dress.

Miley Cyrus: Grade A. For her age, Miley's dress is pretty appropriate. I think she looks great!

Zoe Saldana: Grade C. Hmmmm, not a big fan of the skirt. Maybe if she wore it with something other than the sequenced top and those chunky heels. I think she wanted to be HAUTE COUTURE, but I think she's more of a HOT MESS!

Mariah Carey: Grade C+. I just think Mariah is among the style-challenged! She never seems to get it right, sometimes she's all off, sometimes she's close... This time, she almost had it, but the dress seems to be ill-fitting on her frame and looks slightly too small!

Queen Latifah: Grade A. She looks elegant. Period

Timbaland to Cameo in FlashForward Episode

Well-known rapper and record producer Timbaland -- also known as Tim Mosley (to the IRS and to his mom) -- is making his prime time TV debut.

Though the prolific artist has had his music showcased on several series -- including "The Wire," "Gilmore Girls," "Entourage" and "So You Think You Can Dance" -- he hasn't done much acting. But that could be changing as reliable sources tell me Timbaland will cameo in the second "FlashForward" episode to air this year.

Word is, the cameo is very quick. Like Seth MacFarlane quick. But you will see Timbaland... if you're watching out for him.

So what do you think? Should Timbaland try his hand at a new career?

"FlashForward" returns Thursday, Mar. 18th at 8 p.m. on ABC

Mo' Nique Accepts Best Supporting Actress Award

The Academy Awards...Mo' Nique Wins an Oscar:

Mo'Nique won the best supporting actress Oscar on Sunday for her role as an abusive mother in "Precious," claiming her first Academy Award.

The actress had been considered the favorite to win, having racked up a slew of critics' choice, festival and guild awards for her role in the independent film.

Her chilling portrayal of Mary, a verbally, physically and sexually abusive mother to the title character, had an intensity unmatched by any of the other nominees, who were Penelope Cruz in "Nine," Maggie Gyllenhaal in "Crazy Heart," and Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick in "Up in the Air."

Mo'Nique accepted her statuette to a standing ovation.

"I would like to thank the Academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics," she said with emotion. "To my amazing husband, Sidney -- thank you for showing me that sometimes you have to forego doing what's popular, in order to do what's right."

The newly crowned winner, whose real name is Monique Imes, was up until now largely known for her work as a comedian on the stand-up circuit as well as the UPN television series "The Parkers," and films including "Phat Girlz" and "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins." Last fall, she debuted her own late-night talk show on cable channel BET, "The Mo'Nique Show."

"Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" is the actress' second pairing with filmmaker Lee Daniels, who first cast her in his directorial debut in 2005's "Shadowboxer," alongside fellow Oscar nominee, Helen Mirren.

Mo'Nique joins only a few black actresses to get an Oscar. Hattie McDaniel claimed best supporting actress in 1939's "Gone with the Wind," Whoopi Goldberg won best supporting actress for 1990's "Ghost," Halle Berry took best actress for 2001's "Monster's Ball" and Jennifer Hudson got best supporting actress for 2006's "Dreamgirls."

Mo'Nique said last year at the Sundance Film Festival that the sexual abuse her character displays in "Precious" is not completely foreign to her, as she described her own experience as the victim of childhood molestation.
