The Making of "Say Ahh"

Snoop-a-loop on Vaca with wifey!

Usually, when Plies hits the stage, you can count on hundreds and twenties raining down on the crowd as he raps about how much dough is in his bank roll.

But recently the Florida rapper decided to spend his cash a little more frugally at a rap concert.

Plies PledgeAccording to Hip Hop Enquirer, Plies invited an 18-year old high school senior on stage at a holiday concert in Atlanta.

The girl, Khambrea Johnkins, probably was thinking she was about to get serenaded with a lyric containing her name and maybe an expletive or two. But instead, Plies, whose real name is Algernold Lanier Washington, shocked the crowd by saying he was proud to hear she was a graduating senior and offered to pay for her tuition to any college in the country.

"I don't give a damn if its Georgia Tech Notre Dame, Flora State, Harvard, or Yale, if you want to go to college, i am going to send you to college," Plies announced in his most gully Fort Myers voice.

Now anyone who knows Plies' lyrics knows that when he is talking about brains, it usually doesn't refer to a woman's intellect (check the verses to "Becky" or "Bust It Baby" for those in the dark).

But the Christmas surprise was a refreshing look at the 33-year-old Plies, who despite his self-professed "goon" status attended college at Miami University in Ohio and Central Florida before blowing up on the rap scene.

Plies had been criticized for tossing $50,000 in the crowd at one of his concerts, which got the haters stirring probably because they didn't get any.

Johnkins immediately flashed the "U" sign letting the 15,000 party goers know she wants to spend the next four years of her life in Coral Gables at the University of Miami campus. She plans on studying nursing.

"Well F--- it, I guess you are going to the University of Miami," Plies replied.

That's what we call a Christmas gift rapped the right way.

Shots Fired: 50 Cent releases "So Disrespectful" and says video is coming!

50 Cent Says 'A Visual' Is On The Way For 'So Disrespectful'
In the Before I Self Destruct track, Fif takes shots at the Game and Young Buck.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Is it a warning shot? 50 Cent announced in an overseas interview Monday (December 28) that there will soon be "a visual" for his track "So Disrespectful."

The track, produced by Tha Bizness, is from the rapper's Before I Self-Destruct album and features some choice lines directed at friends-turned-foes, including the mother of his son and former G-Unit cohorts the Game and Young Buck.

"Come on, Game, you'll never be my equal/ Your homies shoot dogs, my homies shoot people," 50 raps on the song. "See, me, I'm what you never gonna be/ I'm in that tax bracket you're never gonna see."

"There will be a visual for it," 50 told Dutch outlet Big FM. "The record is working by itself, that one. It just plays with no assistance from the record company, because people like it and personally enjoy it. I wrote that record about people I had issues with that were pretty cool, but at some point, I felt like they crossed me. So I wrote those different things, and it came out good. People enjoy it."

In an interview with MTV News earlier this year, Game appeared open to reconciling, even going as far as to publicly apologize to 50. But the G-Unit boss didn't seem to accept Game's pleas, despite Dr. Dre having patched things up with his Compton protégé.

"You shouldn't really hold your breath," 50 said about collaborating with Game again. "If Dre decides to work with him, that's Dre's prerogative — his album, he can do what he wants. He's Dre."

Usher gives us "More"

Usher has teamed up with TNT Sports on a new promo for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. The singer both stars in and provides the music for the commercial.

In the ad, Usher appears in front of a set of lights on a stage that looks like a stylized basketball court. He dances and sings a new song, "More," and some of his dance moves match the action in basketball highlights that are inter-cut with the his performance.

Usher is set to release his sixth studio album, Raymond vs. Raymond, next spring. Its lead single, "Papers," was released in October. The track reached number one on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-hop singles chart, and hit number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Another cut, "Little Freak," featuring Nicki Minaj, is also making the rounds. No official tracklist for Raymond vs. Raymond has been released, but there is speculation that "More" will also appear on the album.

Does Rihanna Have Kanye West "Hard?"

Rumor has it, Rihanna was seen getting cozy with Kanye West at a London club Whisky Mist. According to The Daily Mirror, the Barbadian beauty and the current boyfriend of Amber Rose "flirted outrageously and dirty-danced" during the night outing, which date is yet to be disclosed.

"When Kanye came in, he immediately gave her a huge hug and kiss, and sat down with her. The pair were chatting at length, ignoring everyone else," a source said. "She stood in front of Kanye giving him the benefit of a very private dance - and he loved every second."

The source then went on to recall what really happened at the club. "When people started filtering out of the club at 3:00 A.M., Rihanna was still in a party mood - so the group had their very own lock-in, with free-flowing drinks and their choice in music. They left around 4.30am," the source informed.

In another Rihanna news, the 21-year-old beauty has taped her performance for "New Year's Eve With Carson Daly" at Rockefeller Center in New York City on Saturday, December 19. That night, the singer took the stage to perform "Wait Your Turn" off her latest studio album "Rated R". Beside performing solo, she had a duet with Jay-Z to sing "Run This Town".

"New Year's Eve With Carson Daly" is set to be broadcast on NBC on Thursday, December 31 from 10:00 to 11:00 P.M. It was then followed by a party which will be kicked off at 11:30 P.M. In addition to Rihanna and Jay-Z, Green Day is expected to perform at the event. Still, there has been no word on the song's title that will be sung by the punk band.

Professional gold-digger or deserving mother? You decide!

Los Angeles Superior Court judge has decided that Kelis' soon-to-be ex-husband, Nas, can afford to increase his spousal and child support payments from approximately $40,000 to just over $50,000 per month. USA Today reports that this decision was made after a 2-day-hearing determined he’d made enough money recently to support Kelis and Knight, however, according to his lawyer, Nas has come out on top – he no longer has to pay the expenses of the Los Angeles home that he and Kelis once shared.

Is Young Money Really Hot..or Not?

Party, Party, Party

Beyonce may be bringing in the BIG bucks!

Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and its casinos are the centers that attract tourists and lovers of gambling from around the world. Wynn casino is undoubtedly one of the prime attractions of the sin city. It is rumored in the media that Wynn is presently exploring the possibilities of arranging a string of concerts by popular American Rhythm and Blues (R&B) singer and song writer Beyonce Knowles. It is also speculated that the agreement amount with Beyonce will be in the tune of $750,000. The number of concerts and durations are not yet decided. Wynn Resorts spokesperson Jennifer Dunne said that the deal is yet to be finalized and contract has not been signed. The association between Beyonce and Wynn Casino started few months back when this year during July 30 and Aug. 2 the singer visited the casino for recording a DVD for her concert. It is said that during her shoots both Wynn and its sister resort Encore saw a huge fan following and increase in number of guests. Soon after this the singer has been spotted too often in the casino.

It is said that Beyonce will be following the footsteps of famous Canadian singer Céline Dion who signed a contract with Caesars Palace casino of Las Vegas few years back. In this she performed in 717 concerts within 5 years and earned $400 million. The casino also experienced a huge surge in its popularity and earning during the concerts. It has been observed that fans from faraway places come to watch their favorite singers perform in these Las Vegas casinos. Many of them spend considerable time in the casinos floors as well contributing to the booty.

Caesars Palace Casino’s success must have inspired Wynn to rope in Beyonce for their future plans. Casino fans have now more than one reasons to rush for Las Vegas!

iSupport: All Female Mixtape!!

Da Alliance Movement: Volume 1 has now been released! Founded by DJ Lady Blaze & Na'Tee in August 2009, "Da Alliance" Movement is compiled of talented female producers, singers, & rappers. It's been said that female musicians are not as good as male artists. That is where we have come to prove you wrong. We can be just as good if not better than male artists. The typical stereotype that females cannot hold their own in a male dominated industry is quite foolish. Never before has there been a movement like "Da Alliance". We are not only compiled of female rappers, but also singers and producers. We as different musicians all need an outlet to showcase our many talents. Our aim is to bring all female musicians together to promote undeniable talent coming from a female perspective. Sure there have been many movements that attempt to promote females, but many have failed to operate on a consistent basis. "Da Alliance" however will be consistent and will be heavily promoted worldwide.

iNspired: Maxwell - Bad Habits

When is enough enough? I think it's easier said than done to love someone WITH all their flaws. Not that I am looking for perfection, but sometimes bad habits will make or break the relationship.

If someone has a bad CRACK HABIT, for instance, should you tolerate it? I mean unconditional love is a nice notion, but I know I won't tolerate no POOKIES in my bed!! Or what it you're a neat-freak but there are sloppier than hog-wrestling in a mud pit? Do you stay with them?

It's one thing to be unrealistic and think you'll find another human being who doesn't have any flaws, but it's not realistic to think that you should have to put up with someone's bad habits that really make you unhappy.

For me, I can't take cigarette smokers or messy people. Point...Blank...Period...

Ultimately, if your significant other has horrible habits that drive you crazy, you have to try to compromise and see if there is anyway to make the bad habits less problematic, but sometimes you just gotta kick em to the curb!!

My new FAV song! B.O.B got a SMASH!!!!

B.O.B., me, TJ & B. Rich

This song is officially my new FAV song!!!! This is a certified Smash from B.O.B. featuring Bruno Mars, bringing REAL music back! I love this joint, it's on repeat as I type this post!

B.O.B. f. Bruno Mars - Nothing on You (SMASH)

Vote: Niki Minaj

Inspired: Mary J. "Real Love"

While playing Mary J. "Real Love" on my radio show (Shameless plug: 7p-12a M-F, listen live at me think about whether I've had a "real love" yet? Will I ever?

So often, it feels like "real love" when you're in the relationship, but hindsight usually tells a different story! What is "real love" anyway? Is it someone who puts up with you when you've got a nasty attitude? Is it someone that pays your bills for you? Is it someone who fulfills your emotional needs? Sometimes its hard to know what "real love" really is!

I'm starting to believe that "real love" is something better left as a topic of love songs, rather than something that is REAL! In the age of a 50% divorce rate and new cheating scandals exposed everyday, my hope is dwindling...But I hope I'm wrong! I want to be saaaaanging like Mary about my man one day! LOL

If your life had a soundtrack...

What three artists would HAVE to have a song on your soundtrack?

For me its easy, my soundtrack would have to include at least one song from:

My favorite group of all time! No doubt they would have 50% of the songs on the soundtrack! Not to take anything away from Big Boi, but Andre 3000 is such a talented emcee, he amazes me with his wordplay and verbal skill! The chemistry the two of them have together is amazing!

The oldie but goodie! I haven't been a huge Jay-Z fan for a minute, but as far as his classic material goes, I gotta have at least 3 songs from him, maybe 4 on the soundtrack. It's just a must!

Cliche', I know. But gotta have my Pac. I love Biggie, don't get me wrong, but I grew up on Pac and there's no outdoing that! Gotta have my Pac!

What about you?

Review: Scrubs is the Sugar.Honey.Ice.Tea

I love this show so much I had to write about it! Scrubs is one the wittiest shows ever. The clever jokes and perfect comedic delivery of the two main characters, JD & Turk make the show a gem! If you've never seen Scrubs, I highly suggest you give it a try! The balance between the comedy and creating meaningful story lines helps the show satisfy the need to laugh but the desire to connect with the characters.

I can sit and watch the same episodes over and over and I don't run out of things to laugh or think about!

I highly reccommend scrubs, you'll be laughing your ass off!

Twitter me (Just don't be too rough!)

Ok, so I've fallen in love with Twitter (clearly from my last post I easily fall in love with random things that will never love me back!)! I am so seriously a twitterbug! LOL. It's a great way to keep in contact with old friends and meet new ones. For the longest time though i had trouble figuring out EXACTLY what Twitter is! If you aren't on yet, let me attempt to tell you what it is to me. It reminds me of a message board meets MySpace/FaceBook status updates meets text messaging. Essentially you find friends and people to follow, then you communicate by answering the question "What Are You Doing?"

With all that said, when is enough enough? Next someone is going to come up with software we can plug into to and telepathically send our messages to friends. Sometimes less is more! Sometimes I don't need to know that you just finished throwing up cus you were on that Ciroc! You definitiely get those kind of messages on Twitter! Also am I the only conspiricay theorist that believes that having the world know what you are doing and where you are every waking moment isn't always a good thing! Sometimes people don't have any discretion when it comes to Twittering their indiscretions!

UPDATE: I just saw the picture of Rihanna on Twitter! And I'm not talking about school pictures, I'm talking showing all the goodies pictures! That's when you know Twitter can be dangerous! Too Much Information!
Nevertheless, Twitter me!

If I Were a Boy...

I'd marry Oprah Winfrey! She bought KFC for everyone that was smart enough to print their coupons within the 24 hour time period they were available online. I got a KFC grilled chicken box yesterday and I'm going to try to get another today (if KFC isn't out because ery'body and their mother got theirs already today)!

I'm not sure what the hype about the KFC Grilled Chicken is about though. It was good, don't get me wrong, but nothing special. It tasted as good as any other style of chicken at if you like KFC you'll think its good. It didn't really seem healthier though...and I'm not sure if its supposed to be.

Neverthless...I think I'm in love with Oprah! LOL

Viva la Cinco De Mayo! (Thanks Keith!)

I've never understood why Americans, particularly black people and white people get so excited over a holiday that has nothing to do with them in any way, shape or form! With that said, I had a great Cinco de Mayo celebration at Los Compadres aka Margaritaville!

In the words of my good friend Keith, Viva la Cinco de May!
