It's a new year and a new man for Rihanna.
The pop star spent New Year's in the United Arab Emirates with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp.
According to HollywoodLife.com, the 25-year-old slugger accompanied RiRi to Abu Dhabi, where she performed at the Emirates Palace on New Years Eve.
"Rihanna and Matt are starting to get serious – he even followed her to Dubai for New Years," a source said. "Rihanna likes him because he's such a gentleman ... and super sexy!"
The new couple then gallivanted off to Mexico, where they were photographed with their arms wrapped around each other, as well as smooching in a hot tub.
And from the way Kemp has described his ideal woman, it sounds as though Rihanna is a perfect match for him.
"Independent, pretty and got to have good teeth too," he told Yahoo! Sports in September. "That's the most part, independent. Somebody who can go off and do their own thing and not have to worry about me all the time."
The relationship is one of the first for Rihanna, 21, since separating ten months ago from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, who famously bruised and battered the "Disturbia" singer after a 2009 pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles.
Brown plead guilty to assault charges and received five years probation and a year of domestic violence counseling.
Kemp, on the other hand, had a much more positive year than Brown.
In 2009, he led the Dodgers to the National League Championship Series, and won a a Golden Glove Award and Silver Slugger Award.
