Chanel Turns Blue with their Resort Collection


Yes it is that time of year again to think about getting away from the cold weather and going to a place where the sun is always shinning. The designers are getting ready to deliver their Resort Collections to stores. So Chanel has made the perfect makeup and nail polish to go with the perfect clothes and tan. The French luxury design house is debuting an icy pale blue nail lacquer called Riva in their Cote D'Azur 2010 Cruise Collection. Which was inspired by the chic Saint Tropez destination where all the Jones go and also where Chanel cruise collection fashion show was held last spring. Lip colors are also available in this collection, and come in a sun ready pink, nude and a coral orange shade. Le Nail Colour in Rive $27 and Rouge Coco Hydrating Lip Colour$30 are available for a limited time starting in December at Chanel.com, Chanel makeup studios and boutiques. If Riva catch on the way their black or jade colors have then you should get to the nearest counter now.

American Apparel Nails It: Launch 12 New Colors

So when we all think of American Apparel our first thought is leggings and tee shirts in a variety of different colors. But now we can start to think of them as a hot spot to go and get the latest colors in nail polishes. American Apparel started making nail polishes last year and now has decided to add 12 new shades to the line up. All the new shades are inspired by the neighborhoods and cultures in Los Angeles. A single bottle of polish is $6, a three pack for $15 and a seven pack for $$32. All of the polishes are DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde-free formula. Serena Williams Get A Glam Slam With OPI


Serena Williams and OPI nail polish have teamed up to make a sports theme collection. The Glam Slam will run in conjunction with the Australian Open (January), French Open (May), Wimbledon (June) and the US Open (August). Two shades will debut with every competition with Simply Smashing being the first, it is a glowing yellow and Black Shatter accompanying it, which is a special effects top coat that leaves behind a leopard print pattern all over the nail when it dry. It is no surprise Serena is making her own polish since she has a love for nail art and is in the process of getting her nail technician license now.

All the shades are are from the mid 90s, which is just a few years after Francois Nars launched the brand.
