Quincy Jones did some serious talking, himself. During an interview with “US” magazine, the reporter suggested that Kanye was like a modern day Quincy Jones, but Q wasn’t hearing that! He said, "How, man? No way. Did he write for a symphony orchestra? Does he write for a jazz orchestra? Come on, man. He's just a rapper. There's no comparison. T.I. Opens Up About His Drug Habits
Since T.I. has started his 11 month jail sentence, he’s opened up about his drug habits. He admitted to using Oxycontin and Hydrocodone! He also said Eminem has been someone for him to lean on and help him along the way!

Here are some full excerpts from T.I.’s Vibe interview:

VIBE: I've heard you mention how the good that you've done is easily forgotten. Do you feel that you've been treated unfairly?

T.I.: If I place my value in the way humans treat me, then maybe. But they're human, man, they can't help themselves. They do that to people they know personally. So how can I expect them to treat me, only knowing me through television? They did that to Jesus. They did that to Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali. They did it to every great person you could possibly think of. When it was all good, they was with them. When things got bad, then they was against them.

VIBE: But in this case things didn't "get bad." It's something you did.

T.I.: Let me just say this: [he sits up on the couch] If you look at a guy who came up, no pops in the house, moms on welfare, food stamps; started selling dope when he was 12, 13 years old, came up handling guns, being in shoot-outs; started going to jail when he was 15. In all of this chaos and this mischief and lawlessness, the person who was just in jail for machine guns and silencers turns his life around. And now you want to crucify him for what? Three pills. I mean, of course it's wrong and unacceptable and inexcusable. No problem. But in the grand scheme of things, it's rather petty. It's rather petty to hold someone's feet to the fire for something so small when they have overcame things that were so big. All that could have been going wrong if I was riding with more guns, or if I had gotten into a shoot-out and killed somebody, then I could see that. But just think about it. I've gotten it down to this much.

VIBE: How did you get a drug habit?

T.I.: I had a lot of work done to my teeth. Oral surgery, extractions, six, seven, eight root canals. Between January to February. As soon as I got out, I had a lot of stuff done. In the joint, you eat shit that is unhealthy for you. I had fillings that fell out and stuff that had to get dealt with. Of course for the pain they gave me oxycontin and hydrocodone. And, mind you, on October 13, 2007, I had cut off everything, weed, alcohol. Then I get these pills and I start taking them for the pain at first. And then I'm like, Wait, this sh**t makes me feel good. And it's legal. After the pain went away, I kept taking it. I had like five, six prescriptions. So I had, like 80 pills. Everybody else might have a drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. Times when I had 18-, 20-hour days, I'd take a pain pill. And eventually I developed, I guess, the beginning stages of dependence.

VIBE: Have you talked to Eminem about addiction?

T.I.: Sure. We got a record together, and we talked a lot. I asked him how he knew he was an addict. Basically if you put yourself in harm's way… if you risk that, you've got to assume that there is something fundamentally wrong with your thought process.

Hopefully after his vacay, T.I. will stay out of jail and out of court for a while! Usher and Alicia Keys, however, will be in court soon! They’re being sued by a singer/songwriter who claims she penned the song while she was under contract with Alicia Keys’ label, MBK Entertainment!

The two were spotted together, TWICE, in New Orleans! And just in case you were wondering, I love that woman…she is hilarious!

Usher Is Still Mad At His Mom


Well Kanye West isn’t the only man mad about love. Even though he’s been divorced from Tameka Foster for almost a year, he’s still pissed about the wedding! He told Vibe Magazine that he still hasn’t gotten over his mother choosing not to attend. He said, "Parents should be able to have unconditional love for their children and their decisions, regardless of how they feel."

I can only imagine how TI is going to feel on October 15th when he attends his probation hearing. A federal judge will review his recent arrest and determine if it’s a violation of his parole. He could end up back in prison!

Good news for Lloyd Banks! charges against him were dismissed by an Ontario Judge last week. He and his crew were accused of assaulting a booking agent. Two other men were freed on all charges and one person pleaded guilty to assault.

Domestic Violence
Speaking of Charges, Bryan Abrams from Color Me Badd, memba them, "I Wanna Sex You Up." Ok sorry I digress! Anyway he was arrested on charges of domestic violence after allegedly throwing his wife across the room.

DMX's Wife Staying Busy

Lloyd Clarifies His Statements About Chris Brown’s Performance
Lloyd has cleared up his comments regarding Chris Brown's performance on Sunday night's BET Awards. After a video surfaced after CB’s performance of Lloyd saying that he'd told Brown to cry, Lloyd released a statement saying, "I consider Chris a friend. He's been through a lot in the past couple years. I never told him to go on stage and cry. We spoke recently, and I told him as a friend that people hadn't really seen him be vulnerable about his situation last year [with Rihanna]. I thought he was holding back and needed to let that emotion out. Him crying at the BET Awards was real, I could feel it."

T.I. is not only Remy Martin’s new spokesman, he’s also been named as a Global Creative Consultant. Tip will promote and has started working on Remy Martin's "Things are Getting Interesting" campaign. Remy Martin will help support Tip's K.I.N.G. Foundation, which helps low income families through community-oriented programs. "I’ve been a fan of Remy Martin for many years so I’m honored to be working with them as creative consultant," T.I. said. "And now after my trip to Cognac, I admire the brand’s genius even more. An Arizona judge sentenced Lil Wayne to three years' probation yesterday following his 2008 for drugs. Weezy is set to begin his probation once he’s released from Riker’s Island.

Suge Hit with 3-Year Restraining Order
Elwood E. Chatman has been granted a three-year restraining order against Suge Knight after Suge allegedly threatened his life. The Los Angeles man accused Suge of sending eight men to his home to get him or kill him just one day after Suge was released following an incident in Gardenia, California. Suge has to stay 100 yards away from Elwood, his car, his home and his workplace for three years.

Jermaine Says Michael Would Not Be Happy About His Kids
Jermaine Jackson believes that his late brother Michael would not be happy if he knew about the new freedom his three kids have. Michael always wanted Prince, Paris and Blanket to stay out of the public eye, but now that they live with Katherine, they no longer wear veils in public and will even be attending school. "A lot of things he wouldn't like," Jermaine said to Hello! magazine. "He didn't want them to be all over the media, he wanted them to have a normal life, and it was hard with him so famous." Eminem's Recovery is officially the best-selling album since 2008, having sold 741,000 copies its first week out, according to Billboard. Recovery is Em's sixth straight number-one album -- giving him the second most chart-toppers among rappers, behind only Jay-Z.
